Sharmad presenting at UbiComp/ISWC 2025 Conference

The Talk

I presented this work as my first paper, representing our lab in the ISWC Notes track with a 10-minute slot. Most of the room was PhD students and postdocs, so getting to stand up there as an undergrad and put the lab’s work in front of that crowd felt like a genuinely big deal. Picking up the badge at registration was the moment it stopped feeling like a trip and started feeling real, scientist tag and all. The best part honestly wasn’t the talk itself, it was afterward, wandering around and ending up in conversation with people whose papers I’d only ever seen as PDFs on my laptop. Good to see our work land well outside our own group, and the field suddenly felt a lot smaller and a lot friendlier than it looks from behind a screen.

Food

Nordic conference catering was genuinely amazing, every coffee break looked like it had someone plating it with real care, and by the second day I was looking forward to the snacks almost as much as the talks.
